Gold mining and the tunnels for producing the materials sometimes are safe and more times are not.
I am not a specialit man for this field , but just offering my idea that may be useful for more safety of people working at this field.
It is a helical tunnel as long as needed as deep as wanted.
The main idea is :
1- any area of this tunnel exists only at the vertical line.
i.e. no any loads over , and no any tunnels under .
2- more emergency stairs passing all the levels and
can reach any position at any case (4 or more emergency ways or stairs)
3- any sub ways must be at the same horizontal level and radial lines as possible and not circular.
4- these emergency ways due to the slope angle , may be stairs or electrical stairs or any suitable fast and safe.
5- the ordnary steps of safety and the old designs exists.
It is my idea that may help people at all the world who works at this field.

If it is very long tnnels needed and more deep for finding the crude materials like gold or cupper or iron or any material , then this design may be useful.
and the side branches must be smaller in diameter and sizes than the main ways and tunnel.
The civil engineers having the tools to construct at the accurate centimeter dimentions.
And knowing the ( electrical and magnetic coeffecients and the other coeffecient) of the rock materials , and using a radiated points or devices , they can construct an accurate and safe designs.
If it is useful , then it is good.
