Here using degree of  cm's and mm's you can determine (X2)

Knowing the approximate height ( dimentions ) of this shape (X1) , and

Knowing arm length ( approximately) i.e. (Y2)

Then you can determine the far distances approximately.

Or  without any degrees of this glas part , you can use any degrees.

It is exists some devices using radiation or phase shift to determine accurate lengthes ( power say -6 of one cm ) .

but here no devices used , at sea or desert or the stars using photos and determine magnifications lenses used , or .......
